The turnout for the 30-year reunion was less than some of us had hoped, but gave it an "intimate" and relaxed feel. I posted a few photos from it on the main menu. There was not the same level of interest as there was for the 25-year reunion, which makes sense since the "25" marked the first time in 15 years that there was any event at all. With no committee to help with heavy lifting, I hired a reunion service which increased the price. We cancelled the casino night due to low interest and just went with a simple buffet menu and some oldies on my iPod. Tom Tankka and Joel Kappes led a sizeable group of us to Mo's Irish Pub (fun place!) to close out the evening while continuing to catch up and compare notes about what it's going to be like to turn 50 years old soon!

Those who attended told me they liked the casual atmosphere of this event. I did too. That got me thinking......perhaps I'll just host the 35-year reunion at my house and order a bunch of pizzas from Mamma Mia's. Two half-barrels of Bud and crank up WOKY on the radio. The theme will be:

Party at Rasmussen's House--His Parents Aren't Home!

And no, you can't sneak off to a bedroom with a classmate. But I may have to buy off my neighbors or they'll call the cops on us drinking youths. Now wouldn't THAT be a blast from the past!
