Mike Jungbluth and Sue Beyer (written by Mike) Hello everyone! We are looking forward to the 25th reunion and seeing old friends. It has been close to twenty years, since we have seen many of you. The plans for the reunion weekend are great and will offer us the opportunity to spend some time and talk about the last 25 years. In the spring of 1979, my future wife (classmate Susan Beyer) picked me up while standing outside the men's bathroom at the Circle Inn on the Marquette University campus. Now isn't that a unique way of looking for a potential husband? What would have happened if I didn't drink beer that night? Oh well...I did and as a result, we have been happily married for 21+ years. Sue graduated from Alverno in 1981 with an undergraduate degree in Nursing. She is currently employed by the West Allis Health Department, as a public health nurse. She has been there for the last 14 years. It is about the only job that will give her a decent pension. She loves the work. I graduated from MATC in 1982 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. I worked as a nurse at Milwaukee County Mental Health for a year (not sure why they let me out,) and then took a job as a police officer with the West Allis Police Department in 1983. I am currently a Captain of Police in charge of the Training Division and a co-manager of our national accreditation process, which is similar to a business attaining ISO 9000 accreditation. In 1990, after going back to school, I received my undergraduate in Criminal Justice. In 2001, I received a graduate degree in Business Leadership-Quality Management. I am done with school--for now. We have three great kids. Katie (20), Emily (15), and Robert (14). Emily and Robert are only 10 months apart. We both took Family Planning 101, but forgot what we were taught. After graduating from WAC in 2001, Katie is attending UW-Oshkosh and is majoring in elementary education. Emily and Robert are still attending WAC. There is a special bond (with WAC) that the kids have developed, due to the fact that we are alumni. Some of our kids' teachers still remain and remember us (Sue & I) from our years there. My homeroom teacher, Dan "Bug Eyes" Gaynor is the varsity baseball coach and has coached my son, Robert. Katie and Emily had him as a "Powder Puff" football coach. My track coach, Mike Fraundorf (who just retired), was the guidance counselor for Katie and Emily. Jack Padek is the principal. This school is still one of the best around. The quality of education still remains high. We live in the house that I grew up in...couldn't pass on the great deal my parents offered us after Katie was born. There are great benefits to living a block away from WAC. I don't have to give the kids a ride to school and there are no excuses for being late. We enjoy camping and have a seasonal site at Yukon Trails Campground in Lyndon Station, Wisconsin. If you are in the area, stop in--we are located at site 132. We also enjoy motorcycling. We (yes, Sue is going this time) will be making a return trip to Sturgis in 2004. That's all for now--see you at the 25th. Mike and Sue
