Bill Lang

Greetings everyone. Hope life has been treating you well.

This is my family from left to right, Laura Rose (Voge) my wife of 21 years, Steven (15) in front, April Rose (20), and David (16). We were on our "waterfall vacation" (picture in upper Michigan) visiting all the waterfalls we could find in WI and the UP. Then on to a Lake Superior circle tour, returning home via Niagara Falls.

Our rebellious April Rose is studying photo-journalism, David will enter carpentry school when he graduates, and Steven will study video animation with a "gaming" flavor.

April Rose and David were both diagnosed with juvenile diabetes around the age of 12, but since it was discovered prior to any real symptoms, neither one had any complications. Itís problematic at times, but they have matured quickly to take charge of their health.

Laura Rose takes the highest honors for raising our children into some of the most level-headed young people around. Laura is my soul mate, and an excellent cook (I have a few extra pounds to prove it). We've always supported each other, and plan to age gracefully together (relatively speaking). We've stayed in West Allis with our extended family, but have traveled to almost every state in the union as well as our excursion into Canada I'm the only WAC graduate, the rest not-too-sadly have Husky pride.

Life has been very good to me. I have good health, my hair (albeit slightly thinning), and a wonderful family.

I've been BSA Pack Chairperson, company organizer for Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and am currently VP of Marketing for a small startup company.

After a few years in manufacturing, I entered the computer field. Over the next 22 years I've had various technical, administrative, and project management positions at a handful of companies in the Milwaukee area. My current full time job is Disaster Recovery & Change Control Administrator for Roundy's Inc.

The last 8 years have been spent working the usual 12 hour days, and gaining a BBA-MIS at UWM. During my time at UWM I participated in student government - a Justice on the Student Court and Clerk of Courts. I will likely obtain my MBA, and perhaps lecture, sometime down the road.

The disaster recovery and business continuity field seems to be the next expanding area of employment as of late, for obvious reasons. Having attained the status of Certified Business Continuity Professional, I plan to obtain a degree in disaster management from UW-Madison.

Temporal quip
Man created a measure called time to organize events in the passing of life. No other creature cares for time as we do - carrying it upon our wrists or in our pockets. All too often we ignore living to preserve time ñ a concept that simply doesnít exist for any living creature but Man. The advantage over other creatures is that through the measure of time we understand how long we may have for life. Too often we forget our goal: the amount of living we can fit into our time, rather than the amount of time we can fit into our lives.

While we won't be at the reunion, the class of 77 has our best wishes for happiness and good health.
